As I’m sure everyone out there is already aware, the illustrious Vanessa Gebbie is coming to our forthcoming Get Writing 2010 conference to present a workshop on short story writing. Just to whet your appetites, here’s an interview that I did with her recently as part of her blog tour promoting Salt Publishing’s excellent new “Short Circuit” guide.

A wonderful interview with one of my very favourite authors. Many thanks to both for a little insight into what it takes to write a great short story. I’ll be buying ‘Short Circuit’, and I’m much looking forward to meeting Vanessa at ‘Get Writing’.
Thanks, Jenny. “Short Circuit” is definitely worth every penny. So are you going to be writing some more short stories then? You have a pretty impressive hit rate so far
The idea is very tempting – though, knowing me, the short story might just go on to become a book! (Which must mean that I’m not a true short story writer unlike you, Jon, and the inimitable Vanessa!)
